Used Book Trading Policy

BRING US YOUR BOOKS

We will sort through them and choose the books we can use. Our selection is based on physical condition and our current stock levels. We must be able to sell what we take in! You receive a credit equal to 25% of the cover price of the books we accept.

We can return the books that we don't take to you or we can donate them to the Literacy Council of Alaska. Find out more about the Literacy Council at www.literacycouncilofalaska.org.

GUARANTEED TRADEBACK

If you trade used books that were originally purchased from Gulliver's Books, you will receive credit equal to 50% of the used book price. Our yellow price sticker must still be on the book!

CREDITS MAY BE APPLIED TO 90% OF YOUR USED BOOK PURCHASE

You pay 10% of your total used book purchases with cash, check or bankcard. The remaining 90% is deducted from your credit.

There will always be some special clearance items available at Gulliver's Books for which trading credit may not be used. These books require payment with cash, check or bankcard and are non-returnable.

What We Don't Take in Trade

We are happily overloaded with used book trades! Due to the amazing array of books that we receive every day we have to be extra selective about the used books we take in trade. We are also overwhelmed with generous donations to the Literacy Council. You can help us greatly by presorting your books and weeding out the ones we cannot accept.

We cannot accept for trade or donation to the Literacy Council the following types of books:

     • Textbooks
     • Magazines & periodicals
     • Encyclopedias
     • Readers Digest Condensed Books
     • Adult series romance & inspirational romances
     • Original software users manuals
     • Family bibles
     • Spiral-bound books
     • Books without spines (staple-bound or otherwise)
     • Damaged books, including books that are...
          • Missing covers or pages
          • Water damaged
          • Stained
          • Highlighted, underlined or marked
          • Torn
          • Moldy
          • Dirty or dusty
          • Hairy

If any of your books meet the above criteria, please consider donating them to the Salvation Army, Value Village or Forget-Me-Not Books.
